Went on a 20k bike ride today around the Elqui Valley. This included a tour around a Pisco distillery with some tasting. This was awesome since the tour was just for the two of us and there was no pressure to buy anything. Next stop was a house (identified as the yellow house just past the benches) where you have to knock on the door and demand ice cream. An 85 year old lady then comes out and asks you which flavour you want. Then she gives you an ice pop as you part with 20p. All a bit unusual. Lastly we hit the Guayacon brewery restaurant which is quite an oasis along the dusty valley road. They do a tasting menu (of beer) and we washed that down with a burger. All this on bikes from The Elki Magic Bike Team who were fantastic.
