A drive to Petrohue brings you to the car park where people catch the ferry to Puella. However, we parked up and embarked on a 14km walk along the side of the lake. The outward part was beautiful countryside in the shadow of the volcano. The way back was mostly through jungle and partly on the shore of the lake. Another amazing walk but we crossed 2 very large dry riverbeds (think the width of the M1) so perhaps not attempt this in the rainy season.
