Fast becoming locals, we broke our duck on the subway and the bus system. This enabled us to go a bit further than we would have wanted to walk. We saw:-
- Jardin Botánico – lovely to walk round but too early for any spring colour
- Museo Evita – Smallish but excellent and great cafe
- Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de BA – best art gallery I’ve seen for ages. Took pics of art but didn’t post them due to copyright.
To travel on public transport you buy the equivalent of an Oyster Card and then charge it up with credit. This is best done in the subway with a real person as opposed to a machine. I don’t think the machines are keeping up with inflation. The subway is clean, safe and efficient. The bus was like a ride at Alton Towers but with a higher risk of danger. Never seen a bus go fast on a city street then stop in such a short space. Tom Cruise might have been comfortable with the g forces but I’m not sure we were. Still, got back in record time so shouldn’t complain.
How goes it with being understood in BA?Do they speak Spanish or Portuguese in Arquentina?
Spanish in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Portuguese in Brazil (although if all goes to plan we will only have 1 day in Brazil)
Congrats on being the first person to leave a message!
