The 10 hour bus trip from Cordoba to Mendoza started 45 mins later than expected and took 45 mins longer than scheduled so we arrived 90 mins late. Never been on a bus that long before (during the day) so wanted the experience and maybe see some of the Argentinian countryside. The coach boasted aircon, WiFi, coffee, charging points and a loo. The reality was it had a loo. And only just! There was an expectation of a few stops for food and drink but that was a bad assumption. No stops in 11 hours except to let people off. Lucky we had a bag of peanuts. A big one! The view out of the window was one 11 hour continuous vista of prairie. Absolutely nothing to see. Not a problem for me as I busied myself listening to 8 episodes of ‘The Rest is History’, incongruously all on the subject of the Battle of the Little Big Horn (who knew there was so much to say) and a couple of episodes of ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue’. Riding through the pampas listening to someone singing The Hokey Cokey to the tune of Creep (Radiohead) was a surreal moment. A taste of the pampas below including dirty coach windows.
